9 Ways to Heat Up Your Event on a Beach or Desert

With the sand beneath your feet, your group event automatically takes on a more casual, relaxed tone – ideal for events when you want to bond or make a big impact. Discover our hot ideas for the beach or desert.

1. TARGET-PRACTICE AT A DESERT SHOOTING RANGE: For a change of pace during a glamorous itinerary at Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas, head into the Nevada desert to the Gauge Shooting Academy. Following a safety demonstration and instruction, groups are broken into smaller teams and then share the exhilarating challenge of target shooting, trap shooting and sporting clays. Watch the video.

2. SHOP THE NIGHT MARKET BY TORCHLIGHT: Bali is famous for great shopping and Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay makes it easy to find the best-quality local specialties. At the end of the day, guests gather at the Coconut Grove on Jimbaran Beach for cocktails and an Indonesian buffet, then mingle among Balinese artists selling paintings, sculptures, silver jewellery, batik sarongs and other arts and crafts. It’s a one-of-a-kind shopping experience – with the sound of the sea in the background.

3. GO BOWLING WITH COCONUTS: Thailand’s Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui has given pétanque (pronounced pay-tahnk) – a pastime that originated near Marseilles, France – a tropical twist. Similar to British lawn bowling and Italian bocce, the game involves tossing a coconut towards a target. The resort uses dried coconuts from nearby palms and paints them in varying colours to differentiate players. There’s no better way to play than with your toes in the sand – and a fresh coconut cocktail to sip as you toast the winner.

4. SEAFOOD DINING IN HISTORIC ALEXANDRIA: The ancient Egyptian capital of art and science is now a fresh and fashionable resort-style enclave. Right on the Mediterranean, Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria at San Stefano, Egypt invites groups for dinner at Fish Restaurant and Lounge, located on its private sandy beach. This is the place for a truly Alexandrian experience of traditional cuisine, letting you choose from a display of fresh Mediterranean seafood, including sea bass, grouper, crab and mussels. Afterwards, sip exotic cocktails and indulge in flavourful shisha, while watching the sunset.

5. DINE IN A TENT ON THE ARABIAN GULF: For a welcome dinner or farewell event at Four Seasons Hotel Doha, bring your group to the hotel’s private beach on the Arabian Gulf. The setting is a traditional Qatari tent made with rich black and maroon fabrics that protect from the sun’s heat and strong desert winds. In this unique beachfront environment – with a traditional bonfire on the sand – savour a barbecue grill while enjoying a live Arabic band playing traditional music and instruments.

6. KAYAKING AROUND THE ISLAND: Meet on the beach before breakfast for a surprise kayaking race at Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita. Situated in one of the largest lagoons in Mauritius, the Resort’s 4.5-hectare (11-acre) private island is perfect to paddle around. Then return to the secluded Quiet Beach where a Four Seasons breakfast awaits. It’s an ideal team-building activity before a day of meetings.

7. HIKING IN THE SONORAN DESERT: Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North offers guided hikes up nearby Pinnacle Peak Park, just a 10-minute walk away. This is a great opportunity for groups to explore the magnificent Sonoran Desert and learn about the flora and fauna. The entire experience is about 90 minutes – working into your schedule for a morning or afternoon activity.

8. PLAN A CALIFORNIA BEACH PARTY: In Santa Barbara, the Coral Casino Beach and Cabana Club has been a local landmark since 1937. Part of Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara, this beachside venue includes La Pacifica Ballroom and Terrace, offering 180-degree ocean views and direct access to Butterfly Beach. Serve cocktails overlooking the sand and surf or organize beach games.

9. PLAY BEACH VOLLEYBALL IN BEVERLY HILLS: It’s even possible to create a beach in the middle of the city! At Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, the elegant Wetherly Garden – setting for hundreds of red-carpet Hollywood galas over the last two decades – can be transformed into L.A.’s Venice Beach boardwalk, featuring tons of sand from nearby beaches and all the set-up for guests to play beach volleyball. Décor includes large umbrellas and colourful picnic furniture, along with artistic graffiti, surfboards, local vendors and gourmet versions of beach snacks. Guests can enjoy the experience of visiting Venice Beach without leaving the comfort of Four Seasons.

Turtle Walks and
Calypso Dancing on
the Beach in Nevis

Bring your group to a Caribbean paradise! Four Seasons Resort Nevis welcomes you to 142 oceanfront hectares (350 acres) with dazzling opportunities for dining, spa, tennis, golf and beachfront fun. See it come to life in this new video!

Air access to Nevis keeps getting easier – with direct flights to its sister island of St. Kitts from New York, Miami, London and Toronto. Guests then take a gorgeous boat ride to the Resort’s private dock. There are also connecting flight services to Nevis from San Juan, Puerto Rico via Cape Air, Seaborne Airlines and Tradewind Aviation.

Nestled between Pinney’s Beach and the cloud-capped peak of green Mount Nevis, Four Seasons offers 196 spacious guest rooms and suites, as well as exclusive Residence Villas and hillside Estate Homes.

For group events for 18 to 400, the Resort offers 465 m2 (5,000 sq. ft.) of indoor function space, flowing naturally into more than 279 m2 (3,000 sq. ft.) of covered garden terraces overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The near-perfect Nevisian climate makes the function lawns, gardens and beaches available virtually every day of the year.

Groups can have it all with a buyout. Planners can rename the pools, or dedicate each of the 18 holes on the golf course. The package is subject to availability and a minimum of 150 to 180 rooms per night (depending on the month). A minimum four-night stay is required.

NINE TOP GROUP ACTIVITIES ON NEVIS

Entertain your guests with a wide array of activities:

 1. NIGHT TURTLE-WATCH WALKS: Don’t miss the chance to see protected giant sea turtles up close in their natural habitat. From June 1 to October 31 each year, members of the Nevis Turtle Group lead night-time turtle walks on moonlit Nevis beaches. You might count eggs, help measure the turtles or, if you’re lucky, see fresh hatchlings.

2. CALYPSO DANCE LESSON: Learn to move your hips, shoulders, arms and legs to the pulsating rhythms of the Caribbean with dance moves brought from Africa centuries ago. Local dance experts will show off their racy, eye-popping gyrations – giving you plenty of inspiration.

3. LASER SAILING SCHOOL BY SAILLASER: The only program of its kind in the Caribbean, the two-day, eight-hour SailLaser program includes a learning session and boat set-up demonstration on land, followed by a sailing session out on the water. It’s a great team-building activity to enhance any itinerary.

4. GUIDED SNORKEL REEF TOURS: Select from any of the three guided reef tours. Your group will be accompanied by one of our friendly and knowledgeable water sports attendants who will teach you about the tropical fish you witness.

5. DIVE AND DINE: For this unique culinary experience, your group heads out to sea with both our Executive Chef and the Nevisian Dive Master. You’ll visit “secret” dive spots where they know there are lots of Caribbean spiny lobsters. Once in the water, everyone attempts to catch a lobster the way the locals do, using a handmade lasso. Guests bring their own prized “catch of the day” back to the Resort for a beach barbecue. The chef gives a lesson in grilling, using a glaze sauce made with local ingredients, such as mango, passionfruit or papaya.

6. ORGANIC GARDEN TOUR AND LOCAL COOKING EXPERIENCE: Bring your group to Manza’s farm. This Rastafatarian farmer will welcome you with an organic vegetable or fruit juice, then guide a delightful tour of all the fruits, vegetables and herbs in his “Garden of Feeding”. After the tour, you will be given a cooking demo of local delicacies using items from the garden. Eat lunch using indigenous utensils, such as calabash, coconut shells and bamboo.

7. PAR-TEE 9-HOLE GOLF SCRAMBLE: The Robert Trent Jones II-designed course is one of the best in the entire Caribbean and a must-play for any visiting golfer. A true roller coaster ride, the course climbs and drops again and again along the slopes between a towering volcano and the clear blue waters of the Caribbean. Dramatic ruins of a historic sugar mill sit behind the second tee, while the signature 15th hole is the highest point on the hilly course. To keep it fun and casual, join a nine-hole manager/guest scramble and cocktail reception.

8. ECO-BIO GOLF: In this fun activity for golf fans, a golfing range is set up on the beach, letting you drive balls into the ocean, aiming at four floating targets. Balls are biodegradable and within 72 hours, they convert into fish food!

9. ULTIMATE NEVISIAN CHALLENGE BIKE TOUR: Join Nevisian Triathlete Champion, Reggie Douglas, for a complete tour of this beautiful 93 km2 (36 sq. mi.) island. Your round-the-island trip will take you through charming villages and historical plantations, passing through Charlestown, the capital. For intermediate and experienced cyclists only.

Options are available in different categories – from Arts and Entertainment to Gastronomy to Sports and everything in between.

Many of these luxurious experiential itineraries are adaptable for groups. Here’s a sampling from around the globe:

• THE ULTIMATE TEQUILA TOUR: Enjoy a VIP experience at the family-run Jose Cuervo distillery in Tequila, the only region in Mexico where blue agave is grown. An expert sommelier will take your group behind the scenes on an exclusive tour and demonstrate the tequila-making process from start to finish. Then enjoy a gourmet lunch, prepared by a Four Seasons chef, while sipping tequila and listening to live local music. This exclusive experience is arranged by Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, México. Small groups can fly in a five-seat helicopter, while larger groups can travel by bus.

• BEACH VOLLEYBALL WITH AN OLYMPIC CHAMPION: Master your serve, spike and skyball with Olympic gold medal winner and Santa Barbara native Todd Rogers as your personal beach volleyball coach. Through a partnership with Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara, Rogers will share tips with your group, then everyone can face off for a friendly game. He can even enlist his family (all volleyball players) to compete against your team. When the sand settles, sit back and enjoy a catered lunch while you recap the morning’s best rallies.

• GLACIER TEE-OFF: Take a helicopter to the top of a snowcapped mountain where you’ll hit your longest drive ever. Organized by Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler, your exclusive golf experience begins after you finish a round on one of the local championship courses. On the 18th green, meet your personal PGA pro and board a private helicopter to fly 2,438 metres (8,000 feet) to the elevated 19th hole. When you land, Four Seasons servers will greet you with appetizers and your favourite cocktails. Then it’s tee time: With tips from your pro, everyone can aim for a personal record, slamming biodegradable golf balls into the sky while marveling at the incredible panorama.

• IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF A DRAGON: Discover unique local flavours during an exclusive experience from Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong. Guided by one of the Hotel’s expert Chinese Culture Ambassadors, your group will follow in the footsteps of Lung King Heen’s Executive Chef Chen Yan Tak – the first Chinese chef to earn three Michelin stars – on a culinary exploration of the city. Your tour begins behind the scenes in the world-class Lung King Heen kitchen, where you’ll watch authentic Cantonese dim sum, the restaurant’s specialty, being prepared. Next you’ll venture through vibrant Kowloon, where Chef Tak grew up and where he still finds his culinary inspiration, and sample an array of local Cantonese foods along the way. Your epicurean afternoon culminates back at the award-winning Lung King Heen restaurant. Savour a delicious meal from a special menu selected for your group by Chef Tak himself.

• MANGROVES AND EAGLES BOAT SAFARI: Eagles, monkeys, otters, walking fish – Langkawi’s Kilim Karst Geoforest Park is home to one of the most diverse tropical ecosystems on the planet. During an exclusive excursion with Four Seasons Resort Langkawi, Malaysia your group will venture by boat into this UNESCO-inscribed nature preserve as a Four Seasons naturalist leads you to up-close encounters with exotic animals and Malaysia’s most ancient geological formations. Your incredible journey begins when you set sail from the private Four Seasons beach. Passing soaring ancient sea stacks, you’ll enter the park’s dramatic waterways – a maze of 550 million-year-old cliffs and tangled mangroves, home to some of the world’s most intriguing creatures. Traverse little-known tributaries in search of monitor lizards and regal eagles, and coast into limestone caves that house hundreds of sleeping bats. Back at the Resort, visit the Geopark Discovery Centre – the only one of its kind – for a fascinating debrief of your extraordinary adventure.

• LUNCH LIKE A LOCAL: See a side of Mumbai’s everyday life that visitors rarely get to experience when your group meets the city’s dabbawalas, members of the highly regarded lunch-box delivery trade that has been an integral part of Mumbai culture for 125 years. Through a special partnership with Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai, small groups of 6-8 guests enjoy exclusive access when you join the dabbawalas at the local train station and accompany them as they hand-deliver dabbas (stacked lunch tins) – each labelled with an alphanumeric “tiffin code” that acts as a unique ZIP code, ensuring that hundreds of thousands of hot lunches reach their destination each and every day. Then it’s time to unpack your very own dabba, filled with a delicious lunch prepared by Four Seasons chefs.

• STAGE PRESENCE: You don’t have to be a famous conductor to take centre stage at the Hungarian State Opera House, one of the most splendid and acoustically impeccable theatres in the world. During an experience available only through Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest, you’ll take your seat onstage for a dinner that’s a once-in-a-lifetime performance exclusively for you. To create your magnificent evening, the Opera House closes its doors for three full days, preparing every last detail. When the curtain rises and the lights dim, a live orchestra begins your private concert. While you may be captivated by the music and the cuisine, during this unforgettable evening, your group will feel like the true stars.

• A WILD WALK IN THE SERENGETI: Immerse your group in the splendours of the Serengeti on an intimate new level during a 90-minute guided walk that shines a light on the wildlife sanctuary’s most subtle and unusual characteristics. Led by the Resident Naturalist at Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti, as well as Maasai guides and national park rangers, you will explore the beautiful landscape of Serengeti National Park as your guides point out animal tracks, interesting insects and useful plants. During this extraordinary experience, you’ll help install a “camera trap” that digitally records the Serengeti’s majestic animals on the move. Elephants, cheetahs, lions and even notoriously hard-to-spot leopards are known for their cameos. The excitement continues at the Lodge’s acclaimed Discovery Centre, the first interactive museum of its kind in East Africa, where you’ll review the images with an expert and create a personalized digital photo collection that will help you remember every inch of one of the world’s last wild places.

Discover more about these Extraordinary Experiences at FourSeasons.com/ExtraordinaryExperiences – and visit often as more hotels and resorts unveil their local offering. Each opportunity is brought to life through dynamic videos, vignettes and image galleries featuring the world’s most beautiful and desirable locations.

Make Friends with Elephants in the
Golden Triangle

Share the spirit of adventure with a corporate gathering or incentive event in the midst of exotic bamboo jungles. In this magical world – reached only by traditional longtail boat – your group can enjoy hours of interaction with elephants. Watch the video to see for yourself.

Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle offers just 15 luxurious tented accommodations – perfect for groups of up to 30 guests. This unique experience is available as an all-inclusive two-, three- or four-night adventure.

The Tented Camp is a beautiful 1.5-hour journey from Chiang Rai International Airport (CEI), which is easily accessible via direct flights from Bangkok International Airport (BKK). Many groups combine it with time at Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai or Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok.

During the stay, your group’s elephant initiation will begin with learning the golden rules of how to behave around these gentle giants, giving basic vocal commands, and how to get on and off safely. Accompanied by the elephant’s own mahout (trainer), participants then learn how to “drive” their very own elephant, a skill they can put to use as they embark on a trek through the bamboo jungle. They can also bathe and scrub the elephants in the river or pond.

EXTRAORDINARY EXPERIENCE: SUNRISE ELEPHANT TREK

This extraordinary sunrise experience, available only through Four Seasons, invites your group to rise before dawn and embark on a bareback elephant trek to watch the sun rise over the mountains of Laos and the Burmese plains.

A chorus of birds chirp the soundtrack to your expedition, as you discover the power, strength, warmth and intelligence that have earned elephants a sacred role in Thai culture. When you reach the Camp’s highest point, savour a fresh cup of locally-grown coffee and take in the majestic Golden Triangle views before heading back down the hill to the elephant bathing pool. If you’re willing to get wet, join them in the water for a splash!

UNFORGETTABLE GOLDEN TRIANGLE GROUP ACTIVITIES

• PLAY ELEPHANT POLO: Ever wanted to take part in the Sport of Kings? After completing basic elephant training, you’ll have the chance to learn the rules of the game and swing your mallet in an elephant polo match. Truly an unforgettable experience.

• LEARN ABOUT ELEPHANT INTELLIGENCE: Witness first-hand an elephant intelligence research program with the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside researchers who are studying elephant memory and intelligence, with the ultimate aim of better understanding how to protect elephants in the wild. Research involves games, tasks and rewards. It’s very clear to see that the elephants are enjoying the process!

• WORK OUT IN A REAL JUNGLE GYM: This invigorating exercise session starts with stretching at the pool deck overlooking the Ruak River, then involves a one-kilometre (.62 mile) guided uphill hike on the Camp’s Jungle Trail to the Camp Peak.

• DISCOVER THE LOCAL CULTURE: Meet the people of the Golden Triangle. Tour bustling markets or a lush royal garden, shop for exquisite textiles and jewellery, or marvel at temples and pagodas.

• FORAGE FOR LUNCH: A stay at Four Seasons doesn’t usually involve making guests forage for their own food. But in this unique opportunity, you can join a foraging walk to learn about – and dine on – the abundant local flora. Each “herbal walk” ends with a unique jungle-to-table lunch created by the Tented Camp’s chef.

• HOST A MEETING: Creative alternatives to meeting rooms include the river-view Burma Bar and the outdoor Elephant Camp event space.

Combining challenge and inspiration, Four Seasons promises unforgettable results for team-building and strategy sessions.

An Iconic Hotel Reborn in Resurgent Johannesburg

Four Seasons is arriving in South Africa with the complete transformation of Johannesburg’s iconic Westcliff hotel. Opening in September, Four Seasons Hotel The Westcliff Johannesburg is a stylish urban resort in the city’s most prestigious neighbourhood – centrally located between Sandton, the premier business and financial area, and the revitalized Central Business District. It’s just 30 minutes from Oliver Tambo International Airport.

Johannesburg’s only hillside hotel, Four Seasons The Westcliff offers inspiring views over the city’s famous canopy of trees, stretching 80 kilometres (50 miles) to the horizon. The property resembles a hillside village woven with courtyards, fountains and gardens. The 117 guest rooms, including 12 suites, are fully renovated and feature cool, contemporary décor inspired by modern Africa.

Five venues for dining and drinks offer expansive outdoor terraces with sunset views. Menus feature locally inspired cuisine and the best South African wines. Creating the atmosphere of a resort-style retreat are a brand-new destination spa, two swimming pools, a state-of-the-art fitness centre, and nearby world-class golf courses.

ONE OF SOUTH AFRICA’S MOST PRESTIGIOUS CONFERENCE VENUES

Hosting business meetings and receptions for four to 400 guests, Four Seasons The Westcliff encompasses over 1,457 m²  (15,683 sq. ft.) of facilities, including indoor and outdoor garden settings.

Forming a complete conference centre, the Arcadia Ballroom and 13 meeting rooms are conveniently grouped in one building. Seating up to 200 guests, the ballroom is divisible in two and features a pre-function foyer and an outdoor terrace. Breaks and receptions may unfold in the Jacaranda Garden or the Rose Garden, enjoying Johannesburg’s year-round sun.

LOCAL ACTIVITIES SHOW OFF THE NEW JOHANNESBURG

Expert event planners can craft a variety of uniquely Johannesburg experiences to enhance your group’s itinerary and show off the city’s transformation. Among the options:

• AFRICAN WILIDLIFE: Right beside Four Seasons The Westcliff, the Johannesburg Zoo is a vast, leafy home to approximately 320 animal species, totaling about 2,000 creatures. Plan a visit to the nearby Lion Park or the Elephant Sanctuary. Or plan your group event at Four Seasons as a start or end point for an African safari – whether at Kruger National Park (four hours from Johannesburg) or at Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti, Tanzania.

• CRADLE OF HUMANKIND: This UNESCO World Heritage Site features some of the oldest early-human fossils ever found. See fascinating displays and explore the limestone caves where many of the fossils were discovered.

• APARTHEID HISTORY: At the Apartheid Museum, your group can learn the story of South Africa’s non-white citizens who lived under an apartheid government for more than 40 years. At Constitution Hill, you can tour the site of the notorious Old Fort Prison Complex, where political activists such as Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi were once held.

• SOWETO EXPLORING: Short for “South Western Townships,” Soweto is Johannesburg’s must-see city-within-the-city, including 21 different townships. A group tour will let you discover the lively mix of local restaurants and fascinating heritage sites.

• GOLF TOURNAMENTS: Golfers are spoiled for choice. Thirty-six of the top 100 courses in South Africa are within an hour’s drive of Four Seasons The Westcliff, and premier golf clubs are just a few minutes away.

• ARTS, FOOD & CULTURE: Many older Johannesburg neighbourhoods are coming to life with arts and entertainment venues. In the Maboneng Precinct, Braamfontein and 44 Stanley, derelict warehouses and industrial buildings are being regenerated with a cool, creative atmosphere – attracting specialty boutiques, gourmet food markets and design studios.

• GOLD REEF CITY: Schedule a day of fun. Just outside the centre of Johannesburg, this uniquely South African entertainment destination combines a casino with a major theme park, highlighting the discovery of gold and giving a rare tour of Johannesburg from 215 metres (705 feet) below ground.

• WORLD-CLASS SHOPPING: The best Johannesburg shopping is in large-scale malls. Plan an outing to Hyde Park Corner, Rosebank and Sandton City for department stores and designer boutiques, or the open-air Melrose Arch for sidewalk strolling.

Taste the Stars and Go Sky-Walking in a Costa Rican Paradise

This year, Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo is celebrating its first decade as an inspiring destination for incentives, team-building events, and meetings. The resort offers buyouts for groups August through October, and a wonderful array of exciting adventures and activities all year long.

Recently Four Seasons Costa Rica received Aimia’s Passion Award for 2014, honouring the resort’s partnership in the sales process, as well as execution of operations.

This eco-tourism paradise is remarkably easy to reach. In Costa Rica’s northwest Guanacaste Province, it’s just a 40-minute drive from Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIR) in Liberia. Popular hub airports for direct flights include Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver Houston, Los Angeles, Miami and New York (Newark and JFK).

AN ADVENTUROUS DESTINATION FOR GROUP EVENTS

Set on the tip of Peninsula Papagayo – with beaches on both sides – the Resort blends into the natural landscape with architecture inspired by the local wildlife of Costa Rica. The 181 guest rooms, suites and villas and private estate homes capture the exotic character of Costa Rica, with comfortable rattan and bamboo furnishings, local artwork and indigenous wood and stone finishes.

For group gatherings, Four Seasons offers 890 m² (9,589 sq. ft.) of event space and many stunning outdoor venues, hosting up to 300 guests.

For the ultimate event design flexibility in a covered open-air environment, El Armadillo can seat up to 300 guests underneath its soaring curved ceiling. Other popular outdoor options for receptions and dinners include an event lawn, two beaches or a signature hole on the golf course – especially beautiful at sunset. Also, any of the resort’s signature restaurants can be made exclusive for a group function or the Guanacaste Ballroom and three smaller meeting rooms provide a more traditional meeting or awards dinner setting.

The Resort has recently introduced a new signature experience, “Bohemian Night,” that lets you immerse yourself in a local artist’s real-time painting process accompanied by energetic live Latin music.

For an extra special experience for a small VIP group, Four Seasons Costa Rica offers Taste the Stars, an incredible outdoor dining experience combining astronomy and gastronomy. This multi-course, space-influenced event showcases molecular gastronomy by Executive Chef Mario Alcocer, with creative input from astronaut and Costa Rica native Franklin Chang Diaz.

After savouring luminescent cocktails and dishes such as “Taste of the Universe” red snapper sashimi and chocolate mango asteroids, guests peer through a high-powered Meade LX200 GPS telescope while an astronomy guide takes you on a stargazing tour of the night sky. Learn more and watch the video!

COOL COSTA RICAN TEAM-BUILDING ACTIVIITES

Build closer relationships among your group by encouraging everyone to share some of these one-in-a-lifetime Costa Rican experiences.

1. SKY-WALKING: Take your group for a mid-air stroll, crossing suspension bridges through the rainforest. This 2.5-hour walk gives an up-close and personal view of ancient trees and wildlife.

2. ZIP-LINING: For a more exhilarating rainforest experience, slide along a series of zip lines high above the jungle canopy at Witch’s Rock. You’ll have the chance to see tree frogs, tropical birds, howler monkeys, waterfalls and gorgeous flora and fauna.

3. SURFING LESSONS: With warm waters, gorgeous beaches and world-famous surf breaks, Costa Rica gives a perfect introduction to riding the waves. Invite your group for a lesson through the Surfing School, operated by the Resort’s own on-site luxury surf provider, Tropic Surf.

4. CATAMARAN CRUISING: A catamaran cruise provides a relaxing way to explore the Gulf of Papagayo. On a luxury 14-metre (47-foot) catamaran – boarded right at the Resort’s beach – set out on a cruising adventure to see ocean wildlife and jungle shoreline. Snorkeling and sunset tours are available.

5. WORLD-CLASS SPORT FISHING: Anglers love Guanacaste’s rich waters. Known as the “Jurassic Park” of sport fishing, the seas are teeming with marlin, sailfish, dorado, wahoo, grouper, roosterfish, amberjack, mackerel and exceptionally large tuna.

6. HORSEBACK RIDING: Get in touch with the traditional cowboy culture of Guanacaste’s vast cattle ranches as your group explores the backcountry landscape on horseback.

7. GLOW-IN-THE-DARK GOLF: Plan a nighttime game on the miniature golf course beside the driving range – using glow-in-the-dark balls! It’s a great prelude to a tournament the next morning, playing the Arnold Palmer-designed, par-72 championship course.

8. COSTA RICAN CHOCOLATE MAKING: Once you’ve learned to make your own chocolate, you will have a new skill to impress your friends. Learn the culinary secrets of making this unique chocolate and savor or share the results of your work.
